Instructions for Installation
In order to evaluate the CORESE system, you need to install a plug-in for your Firefox browser.
If you already have the CORESE plug-in installed, and you installed it before 19 December 2008, please reinstall to make sure that you are using the latest version.
Click here for instructions on uninstalling CORESE.
Click the button to go to the installation page. A new window will open.
How to use CORESE
Step 1: The Search Plugin
The CORESE plugin will be added to your list of search engines. This is usually at the top right-hand corner of your screen.
After you install the search plugin, CORESE will appear in your list of search engines. It will look something like this:
Or, you may see a menu option "Add CoreseSealife". If so, click on it, and then CORESE will appear in your list of search engines like it does in the picture above.
Select the CORESE search engine:
And just type in your search term and press Enter to get the results.
Step 2: Highlighting
After you install the search plugin, you also need to install the extension for highlighting. This will highlight terms in NeLI. A highlighted page in NeLI will look something like this:
When you click on a highlighted term, you will get more information:
To uninstall the CORESE search plug-in, select "Manage Search Engines" at the bottom of your list of search engines:
Then, select CORESE and click Remove, then click OK:
You do not need to uninstall the highlighting extension. It will be automatically overwritten when you install the new version.
