AbstractThis guidance deals with the management of children with urinary tract infection (UTI) undifferentiated with respect to location (i.e. upper or lower urinary tract). The guideline provides background information (how do I know my patient has it?, risk factors for UTI, presentation of UTI in children, Investigations, collection, storage and transport of urine samples, urine culture, urine dipstick tests, urine microscopy, imaging investigations, aims of imaging, imaging modalities, indications for imaging tests, what else might it be?, Complications and prognosis?) and management issues (general issues, symptomatic treatment, antimicrobial treatment, other treatments, admission criteria, referral criteria, follow-up, management of recurrent UTI).
