AbstractAims: The advent of highly active anti-retroviral therapy (HAART) has created considerable improvement in the prognosis of patients with HIV disease. These guidelines have been developed to reflect previous experience of renal transplantation in HIV-positive patients and to maximise patient and graft-survival. It is likely that the guidelines will be updated in the light of future experience and developments.
