AbstractThis paper sets out the midwife’s responsibilities in relation to HIV. These include responsibilities to provide information about HIV infection to pregnant women, to offer HIV testing as part of antenatal screening, and to care for pregnant women who are HIV positive or have AIDS. It also addresses the rights and responsibilities of the midwife infected with HIV.
