AbstractPelvic inflammatory disease (PID) is a common cause of morbidity and accounts for 1 in 60 GP consultations by women under the age of 45. This guideline applies to women requiring treatment for confirmed or suspected acute PID being treated in an outpatient or inpatient setting by primary and secondary care practitioners.
