Abstract | Donovanosis is a sexually transmitted infection that usually manifests itself as genital ulceration. It is seen chiefly in small endemic foci in tropical countries. Active foci of disease in recent years have been described in India, Papua New Guinea, the Caribbean, Brazil, the Guyanas, South Africa, Zambia, Vietnam, and in Australian aboriginals.
