AbstractThese guidelines address the following issues: promoting a uniformly high standard of care in all HIV treatment centres in the UK; assessing recent research; assisting in discussions between purchasers/providers regarding HIV/AIDS diagnostic testing, care and treatments; acting as a basis for clinical audit within clinical governance; acting as a source of reference on AIDS treatment for physicians caring for HIV-infected patients; acting as a source of reference for HIV-infected people.
