Tip of the Month

September 2003 - People cannot become resistant to Antibiotics

People cannot become resistant to antibiotics or other antimicrobials because the antimicrobial is not being used to treat our cells but instead to harm the bacterial cells. Antimicrobials do not target our cells, only the microbes themselves, so we do not become resistant to them.
