Tip of the Month

December 2003 - Do not save leftover antibiotics

It is important to complete the course of treatment given to you by your doctor and not to save any antibiotics in case you get ill again. There are many different types of antibiotics and taking the wrong one or taking one when you do not need it (e.g. when you have a viral infection) will not help you to get better and may increase the development of antibiotic resistance.
